our team
Tara earned her BA from the University of Calgary and lives near the West Springs community with her high school sweetheart and beloved partner of over 14 years. Their big doggie, Freya, was adopted from the Cochrane Humane Society. According to her tested DNA, Freya is a mix of Husky, Norwegian Elkhound, and a few other breeds. Freya loves her two cat sisters adopted from the Calgary Humane Society, Buddha and Kali, but wonders why they do not like to play like puppies. Buddha is a dilute calico who is as cuddly as she is sassy. Kali is a black cat who’s always relaxing. Kali has the temperament of Cleopatra and is happy when she is worshipped just right. Tara sees her deeply adored animals reflected in the faces of all of her patients and understands the immensity of the bond shared between us and our furry family members. Every day at work, she is very happy to be at the service of cats, dogs, and those who love them.
Ever since she was a child, Tracy knew she wanted to grow up to work with animals. She started this Journey working at a Store where she was primarily responsible for taking care of the small animals, rescue cats, fish, and reptiles. After a few years, an opportunity arose to work for a veterinary hospital that she could not turn down, and she has been at it ever since. She joins us now with many years of hands-on experience in the veterinary medicine field. She is passionate about animals and the care they receive and cannot imagine herself doing anything else. When not in the clinic, Tracy enjoys spending time with her husband Dylan, their 2 rescue Cats Tinker and Cheddar, and her Chihuahua Zoe.
